The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. was founded in February of 1998 and is engaged since that time in new- and further-development of processes. The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. is a non-profit association and pursue the following points:

- encouragement of small and medium-sized businesses (SMB) of the industrial
  economy in the development of new products and processes,

- implementation of research and development projects at a pre-competitive stage and

- transfer of research results in SMBs.


The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. act as a center of excellence for selected innovative processes for example on the area of rapid prototyping, which is a subarea of rapid engineering. The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. makes a contribution to developement and qualification on this dynamically developing high technology area.

The plasma polishing – a modern process for surface treatment of metallic parts – was developed within a cooperation of different partners and gets a further developement by the BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieenwicklung e. V.

The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. could distinguish oneself with these activities in the last years and consists of 14 employees and one trainee now.
