Precision casting with the lost wax technique fulfils the rising requirements of  modern engineering. With this process prototypes and small-batch production models can be manufactured.

The continuous process chain from the idea to the product is mainly defined by the casting technology.

The BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. uses this technology primarily in the area of medical engineering for the manufacturing of implants made of titanium and in the field of precision- and micro-technology to make prototypes. Topics of research projects are for example special materials for casting molds, demolding of castings and the casting of plastic with high pressurisation.
