The scientific work of BECKMANN-INSTITUT für Technologieentwicklung e. V. covers the whole process chain of Rapid Prototyping up to plasma polishing, a process for surface treatment of metallic parts.

The focus areas are:

- opening up new fields of application for rapid prototyping technologies,

- medical applications of the rapid prototyping process chain,

- chipping and erosive processes in combination with rapid prototyping technologies,

- configuration and improvement of the rapid prototyping process chain and
